The Artists

Scott Cardamatis and Joseph Saad collaborated four years ago bringing together their artistic skills and knowledge of Australia's unique plant life and ecological sustainability. Both artists shared a burning desire to create something truly original yet highly contemporary in the art world, that represented Australia in a uniquely accurate way.
The success of this collaboration can be seen in the desirability of their art. Since their first exhibition in 2009 in Paddington Sydney, the artists have held numerous exhibitions and their works can now be seen around the world in countless homes, luxury hotels including Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island and corporate and government offices including the Green Building Council of Australia, NSW Lotteries and in the most established of institutions including the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens.
Internationally their work has been used to showcase Australia in its natural form. This has included a recent fit out of North America's largest dispute and mediation centre and one of Shanghai's largest shopping Malls.
Constantly changing and evolving the artists hold regular exhibitions with 2011 seeing several shows in Australia and China. In 2012 the artists are collaboration with the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens in March holding the "Transit of Venus" Exhibition.
Scott Richard Cardamatis
Scott was raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and from a young age developed a deep love for the Australian bush and its wildlife. Not long after leaving school he championed numerous causes defending wildlife and natural environments, this soon caught the attention of Government and Scott was appointed as the advisor to the NSW Government on National Parks. He went on to become a senior policy advisor to the NSW Minister for the Environment from 1999-2007. Recently Scott produced Commonwealth guidelines for a national response to wildlife following marine oil spills in each state.
Inheriting his family’s artistic abilities Scott has been designing and creating natural inspired art work for many years. His works have been featured in many magazines and his most recent designs have meshed the beauty of the natural environment with Australia’s desire to develop works that truly reflect the essence of this country.
Scott’s grandfather was Dr Raoul Cardamatis a well known Macquarie St psychologist, painter and writer. An accomplished portrait painter, Raoul was a finalist in the 1945 Archibald Prize.
He had three children including well known artist Wolfgang Kardamatis, (Scott’s uncle) who resides in
Avignon, France, aged 92. His paintings are sought after worldwide and he has had several works exhibited at the National Gallery.
Joseph Nadim Saad
Joseph is the son of a migrant family who immigrated to Australia in 1969 from the remote mountain village of Baslouqit in North Lebanon. Settling in Sydney’s Inner West at Earlwood, his surrounds of bush and valley were to shape his love for nature.
After leaving school in 1990 Joseph worked in his family business in Bondi Junction whilst studying Law at the University of Sydney, however his artistic tendencies soon steered him onto a more creative path and he left law to study Fashion at East Sydney and Petersham Technical College.
Joseph went on to specialise in bridal and evening couture and worked for 5 years with the Giorgio Armani Company. His passion for costume, set and design was expanded whilst working as a window dresser furthering his artistic abilities. These skills were then developed whilst working with the family building company contributing to the design, interiors and landscaping of projects.
When not working in his business as a personal trainer, Josephs design skills are at the forefront of each art work created. His methodical approach to individuality, ensuring absolute attention to detail provides each art work with its own unique character and composition guaranteeing originality.
